Mission
The Public Policy & Sustainability Blog is a forum for constructive and engaging dialogue between the Con-way enterprise and the many different constituents, participants and interests that we touch in the shipping and logistics community in the U.S. and around the world. This blog provides a platform whose purpose is to foster reasoned and intelligent discussion of issues and topics related to public policy and sustainability as they pertain to freight transportation and logistics. These topics are vitally important to our industries, our employees, our customers and the hundreds of communities in which Con-way’s 30,000 employees live and work.
This blog’s mission is to be a thoughtful, positive resource where:
- Participants actively and regularly share insights, ideas and opinions
- Contributions collectively lead to a more informed and engaged audience
- Better awareness and understanding of key public policy issues are gained
- Visibility and understanding of progressive, measurable results toward improving the sustainability of our business, industry and of our environment are achieved.
In this way, we help extend knowledge and awareness of the asset that transportation and logistics represents as a responsible, integral part of society and the broader global community.
We welcome your participation. If you have an interest in being part of this ongoing thought leadership and discussion forum, we encourage you to register and share your ideas. If you have interests that fall outside the primary purpose of this blog, there are many other sites where your opinions may be aired, but for the good of the community that is registered and participating in this blog, our intent is to keep this dialogue focused on the goals and objectives we have outlined. We ask that you honor this intent in both spirit and practice.
Please visit the Public Policy & Sustainability Blog often and contribute your thoughts as we work to bring visibility and understanding to those key issues important to our industry and our communities, and we help shape those policies and actions that will determine our future.
